Problem

For warehouses handling large volumes of fast-moving and date-sensitive goods, efficient stock rotation is essential for maintaining inventory control and reducing unnecessary forklift movement.

For this approximately 7,000 m² warehouse, the customer needed a high-density storage solution that could support FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory management while maintaining efficient loading and retrieval operations.

The customer needed to:

Support FIFO stock rotation

The objective was to combine high storage density with controlled stock rotation and efficient pallet handling.

Solution

Vinatech implemented a Pallet Flow Racking System designed for high-density FIFO pallet storage.

The system uses inclined roller lanes to allow pallets to move from the loading side towards the picking side. This creates a controlled product flow through each storage lane, allowing older stock to be accessed first while reducing the need for forklifts to travel deep into the racking.
