LOTTE Logistics Warehouse Racking Project – Vinatech Australia
Problem
LOTTE Global Logistics developed a new 23,000 m² warehouse to support large-scale logistics and consumer goods operations. As a high-volume logistics facility, the warehouse needed to accommodate a large number of palletised goods, multiple SKUs and frequent inbound and outbound movements every day.
The main challenge was not simply to install as many pallet positions as possible. LOTTE required a storage system that could significantly increase capacity while still allowing warehouse operators to access individual pallets quickly and efficiently. This was particularly important for a logistics operation where different SKUs may have different stock rotation rates, order frequencies and inventory volumes.
At the same time, the warehouse needed to accommodate approximately 2 times the existing storage demand. Increasing storage density therefore had to be balanced against forklift accessibility, picking efficiency and material flow throughout the facility.
Solution
After assessing LOTTE Global Logistics’ warehouse requirements, Vinatech recommended a Selective Pallet Racking System as the primary storage solution.
Selective Pallet Racking was particularly suitable for this project because it provides 100% direct access to every pallet position. Unlike high-density systems where pallets may be stored several positions deep, each pallet in a selective system can be accessed directly from the forklift aisle without moving other pallets first.
This characteristic is especially valuable for logistics warehouses handling multiple SKUs and frequent stock rotation, where fast access to different products is critical to maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
Vinatech designed the racking layout to make effective use of the warehouse’s 23,000 m² floor area and available vertical height. Pallet locations were organised vertically across multiple rack levels, significantly increasing storage capacity compared with conventional floor stacking while keeping the warehouse structured and accessible.
This calculated figure reflects the overall storage capacity of the facility, including floor area allocated to forklift aisles, circulation and supporting warehouse operations. It therefore provides a practical indication of how effectively the overall warehouse footprint has been converted into usable pallet storage capacity.
Outcome
The completed Selective Pallet Racking System transformed the 23,000 m² warehouse into a structured, high-capacity storage facility capable of supporting LOTTE Global Logistics’ large-scale operations.
The completed system delivers:

- Approximately 783 pallet positions per 1,000 m² of total warehouse floor area
- Approximately 2× storage demand accommodated

The structured layout also improves overall material flow. Clearly defined storage locations and forklift aisles help reduce unnecessary movement within the warehouse, while direct pallet access supports efficient inbound, outbound and replenishment activities.
